FSLA supporters speak out about how lawsuit abuse impacts their small businesses as a part of the nationwide “I Am Lawsuit Abuse” video campaign. Visit Sick of Lawsuits to hear their stories! ------------------------------------------------ Lawsuit abuse means we all pay and we all lose. Florida’s courts are intended to be used for real victims seeking justice, not for some greedy individuals seeking riches. Unfortunately, too many people are playing a lottery with our legal system and abusing our courts with frivolous lawsuits. The use of our courts as a “lawsuit lottery” comes with a cost for every Floridian. We pay for lawsuit abuse each and every day through increased costs of goods and services, doctors leaving the state and clogged courts. Florida Stop Lawsuit Abuse is a grassroots group dedicated to challenging those who abuse our legal system and educating the public about the costs and consequences of lawsuit abuse. We’re working to return common sense and fairness to our state’s courts. About FSLA's Executive Director Carlos Muhletaler, executive director of Florida Stop Lawsuit Abuse, works to engage Florida citizens in the fight against lawsuit abuse, and to expand the reach and strength of FSLA’s message. Mr. Muhletaler has more than a decade of experience in Florida politics and grassroots advocacy, working on local and statewide political campaigns and helping build and manage the grassroots network of Citizens for a Sound Economy. Additionally, Mr. Muhletaler has worked on a number of international policy issues during his involvement with the Joint Agreement of Cartagena’s (El Grupo Andino) in Lima, Peru. Mr. Muhletaler holds a B.A in Political Science from Regis University in Denver, CO, and an M.A. in Latin American and Iberian Studies from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. |
